Lynx is the 1st boss in the game you will encounter. After you defeated his 5 bodyguards, Lynx sees no other option then to fight you. just like other bosses, 3 rounds are recquired to defeat him.

Perks and enchantments

Lynx is one of the only fighters that shadow encounters that has 2 enchantments on his weapons, namely poison, that slowly drains your health away for a short period of time, and time bomb, which deploys a bomb that goes of and deals a lot of damage in a few seconds. the more damage lynx deals with its strike, the higher the chance these enchantments will deploy on you.

Lynx has an unique ability, he can turn invisible. although your character will still look in his direction, this makes it more difficult to fight him. the invisibilty will only wear off when the player deals a high amount of damage to lynx.

Weapons

Lynx uses a pair of claws, which resemble like the steel claws available in act III. except for the super slash. which acts like he jumps towards you while slashing you with his claws. as read above, the weapon has 2 enchantments, till now the only weapon. when you defeat Lynx for the second time and achieve his weapon, it won't have poison on it. only time bomb

Lynx also features ranged weapons. The first enemy in the game with them. This is tricky when you don't know how to deal them. After you defeat Lynx the ranged weapons section in the shop will be unlocked. In the Interlude Lynx also has magic in his weapon arsenal. Namely force blast which is arguably the quickest spell in the game.

Strategy

  • For your gear, equip the weapon that suits you the most, however, many players recommend the daggers for their speed.
  • When you face heavy difficulties with his perk try to double sweep many times. Most of the times this will hit him because his hits nearly always go for the head
  • When you equip a weapon like sais or batons (or even blood reaper) you can try to cancel his perk by hitting him while he turns it "on". this is difficult with the daggers because of their range
  • To dodge his ranged weapons, try to roll forward as soon you see the dagger fly from his hand (DON'T ROLL BACKWARDS, THIS IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN FORWARD ROLL!!)
  • In the Interlude, you beat him in level 38 at that level, you unlock the morning stars as weapon (handle like batons/maces). If you don't like that class of weapon. consider beating shogun a second time to equip Shogun's Katana, which functions like a daisho (arguably the best weapon in the game).
